Where is everybody?

Stefania Galegati and Angelo Leonardo

Where is Everybody?” (inspired by a paradox by E. Fermi from 1950) is the narrative of a process of confrontation and reflection that involved researchers from various disciplines: astrophysics, archaeology, art, and philosophy, gathered in a country house near the necropolis of Realmese, Caltanissetta. One of the starting reflections, drawing parallels between the numerous artificial caves present in the necropolis and black holes, led the group to question the implications of general relativity and quantum mechanics on our imaginative faculties. During the residency period, philosophical and scientific discussions also emerged about the possibility of transcending language by moving beyond human experience. This complex web of thoughts and dialogues culminated in a series of artworks created either collaboratively or individually, which transform with each exhibition, presenting different forms and perspectives.

Tik Tok Chakra

Rac Montoro

curated by Laura Rositani

The "Tik Tok Chakra" project by Rac Montoro, curated by Laura Rositani, aims to hack the Campo XS space, transforming it into a place of physical, spiritual, and transpersonal exercise. The exhibition investigates the connection between healing practices and social media trends, adopting a critical stance towards promises of wellness-washing and easily accessible self-realization. It interrogates the spiritual simulacra produced by the attention economy. The performance consists of critical pedagogy through a guided yoga lesson that elevates the analysis of verbal and paraverbal communication trends used by TikTokers in their reels to a level of augmented corporeality. A second performative layer interweaves the interpretation of astrological data with queer community thought, insights for which are drawn from Sophie's songs and the writings of Paul B. Preciado, Monique Wittig, and Judith Butler. More than finding an answer to the fundamental question about life, the universe, and its end, the Tik Tok Chakras represent an exercise in meta-rituality to question oneself about the deconstruction of one's identity and the creation of free bodies that present their fragilities through a queer performativity that does not demonize them. The exhibition includes the presentation of a video essay that becomes a meditation on the present, investigating the relationship between the virtual and the holistic. It traces a contemporary outlook on the idea of belief and ritual in the era of affective algorithms, where the spiritual prosumer (1) navigates between performed intimacy and an authentic search for meaning.
