From Mouth to Ear, Body to Body, Hand to Hand, a solo exhibition by Rebeca Pak curated by Livia Milani, was born from artistic-curatorial research on the concept of the “exotic” as a stereotype not only of different cultural identities, but also of bodies and their representations, especially female ones.
The artist considers citrus fruits as a key element that incorporates layered stories and symbols: they are a figurative representation of the commercial exchanges of the colonial period and, at the same time, they are also a Western allegory of the "fascination of elsewhere" that finds in the eroticization of the female body a powerful tool of imagination, stereotyping, and narration.
